Significant refurbishment planned to transform Derbyshire village pub

The Cobbles, a popular pub in Chapel-en-le-Frith, a rural town in Derbyshire is due to undergo a significant transformation with a planned investment of £180,000 from the UK’s leading community pub operator, Admiral Taverns.

Based in the heart of the Peak District, the town attracts tourists throughout the year and is home to a great range of independent shops and restaurants. Spotting a gap in the local market for a family-friendly, food and drink-led business, Admiral plan to invest in the pub to turn the Cobbles into the perfect all-day space for drinking and dining.

Recruitment Executive at Admiral Taverns, Ceri Radford said, “This is an unmissable opportunity for an individual or couple to take on this fantastic pub and create their own business in the town.  We want to make the pub feel welcoming to a wide range of customers and deliver a unique experience that feels special to them.”

The Cobbles is a terraced property which benefits from two separate rooms and a large outdoor space. The refurbishment will give the pub a cosy, homely feel which will feature a spectacular timber bar front, comfy furniture and wood flooring in the main bar area. To the side of this main area there is also a snug for customers who want to relax by a roaring fire in the winter and enjoy the beautiful views of the Peak District.

The pub has an enviably large beer garden, perfect for hosting BBQs and summer parties. A beautiful pergola will be installed in the garden with fairy lights, making this the ideal space for friends and families to spend time together on those warm summer evenings.

Additionally, the Cobbles will be focusing on developing a high-quality food and drink offer. As the appetite from customers for great-tasting coffee continues to grow, the pub will offer espresso coffee to cater for customers looking for their caffeine fix throughout the day. There will be also be an extensive range of gins, craft ales and other specialty drinks and a bar stocked full of delicious cakes, pastries and pies for a tasty mid-afternoon snack.

Commenting on the refurbishment plans, Ceri Radford said, “We are incredibly excited to get started on this investment and turn the Cobbles into a pub that feels really fresh and will bring in a new customer base. As a truly people-focused business, we are passionate about finding the right people to run their own pub business and giving them support throughout the process.
