The Quays, Darlington unveils a fresh new look for September!

• The pub will unveil its sparkling new interior with a celebratory opening evening on Friday 8th September

A central Darlington pub will reopen this week following an investment from leading community pub company Admiral Taverns. The Quays, on Tubwell Row, Darlington, run by longstanding licensee Joanne Brown, will open its doors on Friday 8th September 2017 at 7pm.

A popular pub in the local area, The Quays interior has been refurbished to give it a revitalised new look and provide a warm welcome to the local community. The pub regularly hosts live music and quiz evenings and is popular with local sports teams. It isn’t just the entertainment which makes the place special, the pub has launched a newly developed food offer and now has a delicious selection of home cooked meals on offer as well as a light bites menu available throughout the day. The meals will all be cooked on site, using local ingredients and complementing a wide drinks offering which includes cask ales.

Local licensee Joanne Brown took over the Quays in 2014 and is well known in the area having managed other popular pubs in the community. Joanne has revitalised the pub, enhancing the food offer, establishing a popular delivery service for Sunday roasts and hosting open mic nights at the pub.

The opening night begins at 7pm and will feature live music from the band ‘King’s Contraband’ throughout the evening as well as samples from the delicious new menu which will include curry, fish and chips and the pub’s take on the regional speciality ‘the Parmo’.

Commenting on the opening, Joanne Brown, Licensee of the Quays said: “I am very excited to be reopening the doors on Friday. For the past three years we have worked hard to provide a great hub for the local community at The Quays and I’m looking forward to seeing our customer’s reactions to our new look.

We will be celebrating on opening night with a live band and samples from the delicious new food menu and look forward to welcoming both our regulars and hopefully some new faces.”
