Newton’s New Crown is full of gems!

The community of Newton Heath have been celebrating this week after the reopening of their local pub, the New Crown Inn, following a £80,000 investment by leading community pub company Admiral Taverns.

The launch evening saw locals from the area enjoy a fantastic range of drinks including premium draught lagers and a range of cocktails, live music and some tasty nibbles whilst making the most of the summer weather in the new and improved outside drinking area.

Local licensee Laura Heslop had previously run pubs in the area before taking a break to start her family. Laura was determined to continue to develop her career as a successful pub licensee and took over the New Crown in 2016, partnering with Pub Company Admiral Taverns.

Over the last two years, Laura has re-established the New Crown as a popular local hub in Newton Heath. Supporting her to continue to develop the pub still further Admiral Taverns have invested £80,000 into the pub, improving both the interior and exterior and developing the pub’s external drinking area which overlooks the Rochdale canal.

Following the successful reopening Laura is planning to introduce a programme of entertainment from Friday to Sunday including DJs, live performers and karaoke. The pub will also be launching a ‘Play Your Cards Right’ night, where tickets are raffled off and donations will go to local charities.

Commentating on the reopening, licensee Laura Heslop at the New Crown said: “We had a fantastic opening night with both new and old faces enjoying the pub’s new look. The redevelopment has well and truly polished the New Crown and ensured that our locals have a fantastic pub that they can all enjoy. The lovely new external drinking area has been the perfect place to cool off in the recent heatwave and we are looking forward to continuing to show it off over the busy summer period.”

The New Crown, 23 Old Church Street, Manchester, M40 2JN has now reopened.
