Christchurch Community pub unveils brand-new patio garden to mark the start of summer
The Nelson Tavern, a family-friendly pub in Mudeford, Christchurch is delighted to re-open its patio garden following an investment of £90,000 from Admiral Taverns and Magners Cider just in time for summer.
A favourite with the locals in Mudeford, the family-friendly and dog-friendly pub is well-known for its high-quality gastropub menu which features classic dishes such as Slow-Cooked BBQ Pork Ribs and Beer-Battered Cod and Chips. The pub is situated along a picturesque coastal walking path running from Highcliffe to Kimmeridge attracting tourists and walkers alike.
In the south-facing patio garden there are a number of places customers can sit and enjoy a pint or delicious lunch whilst they soak up the summer sun with friends and family. Some of the beautiful new furniture additions include two beach huts painted in Instagram-worthy yellow and pink. Pastel-blue booths have also been installed and wooden benches sit along the wall with cushions for maximum comfort, providing plentiful space for customers on hot days.
When balmy summer evenings turn chilly, the pub have also installed patio heaters allowing you to enjoy the patio garden for longer. The Nelson Tavern has a regular roster of live music sessions and events in the summer which means they can accommodate more people when it gets crowded! They host a number of private parties for special occasions such as birthdays and wedding celebrations too throughout the year such as their upcoming Latin and Caribbean music festival on the 7th July which will include a delicious hog roast and live entertainment
Perfect for children and families, there is a play area with interactive games such as giant dominos and Connect Four. There are child-friendly tables and chairs allowing kids to play while parents relax. Over the summer the pub is launching a brand-new food and wine menu, with a number of fresh and light dishes to tempt in customers.
