Brierly Hill Community Pub Refurbished Following Transformational Investment

Popular community pub, The Samson & Lion on Brierley Hill Road, recently reopened, following a combined investment of £190,000 from experienced licensees, Nicola Griffiths and Mat Carey, and Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub company.

The refurbishment will breathe a new lease of life into Samson & Lion to elevate and modernise the overall look and feel of the pub – ultimately enabling the licensee to further cement it as the go-to community hub for local residents.

Internally, the pub has been refurbished to include brand-new fixtures, flooring and fittings throughout – as well as a brand-new darts board in the games room and an updated kitchen and lounge area. The pub also includes two flatscreen televisions fitted with Sky and TNT sports for customers to enjoy and a function room in the downstairs of to the pub, which will be used for special occasions later this year.

Externally, the pub features brand-new lighting and signage along with new benches in the beer garden which can accommodate 25-30 people.

Passionate licensees, Nicola and Matt, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the pub having worked in the hospitality sector for the past nine years. Going forward the licensees are committed to creating a dog and family friendly hub that brings people together and supports all aspects of community life.

Going forward, Nicola and Matt are hosting a busy schedule of regular entertainment for the community to enjoy including live music taking place on a regular basis on a Friday and Saturday evening from 8.30pm onwards. In addition, as part of their mission to give back to the local community, they will also be hosting regular fundraising events/community initiatives for a local charity in the future.

Following the refurbishment, the pub hosts an impressive range of drinks including Guinness, Cruzcampo, Moretti, Magners and much more.

The Samson & Lion also has a delicious food menu, which includes Scottish pie specials, homemade chips and a Sunday roast with beef, chicken and pork options offered every Sunday from 12-5pm.
