The Strawberry Gardens is in a fantastic location within ½ mile of Droylsden town centre which boasts a number of shops and businesses, on an arterial route into Manchester town centre and close to the Metro Link Station. Situated on a large corner plot surrounded by residential dwellings the Strawberry Gardens already has a loyal following boasting pool and darts teams and is popular in the community for live sports and weekly activity. Having the “best beer garden” in Droylsden, it’s the place to be when the sun is out and becomes the perfect place to meet family and friends into the evening.  Situated at the end of a row of shops including takeaways and a convenience store there is high footfall throughout the day and into the late evening.

Pub Layout

After a recent refurbishment the pub has been revitalised in every aspect of space ensuring it keeps its charm whilst seamlessly incorporating modern design elements including a newly added beer garden. Internally it has various seating options including fixed booth seating and loose seating creating distinctive areas within the pub included a space for darts and pool which doubles as a dancefloor area at weekends, this is all served from a central bar area. Internally there are four TVs ensuring sport can be viewed from every angle and to the rear is a beer which has been recently created, with a covered, heated area, seating around 80 customers it also features two 55inch TVs.

The Strawberry Gardens is a true community pub that benefits from additional footfall when the weather is warm as the new beer garden was added. It shows live sports TV throughout the week on four internal TV’s and two additional TV’s in the beer garden. Known for its sports teams the pub has a designated area for pool and darts which can be cleared on weekend evenings to provide a DJ area and dance floor. The new operator will need to provide a sound base for sports teams and traditional bar games including football, pool, darts, dominoes and quizzes along with a vibrant and varied entertainment program at weekends. It goes without saying the new operator will put the community at the heart of everything that goes on and will strive to make the Strawberry Gardens the community hub in the local area.

This opportunity is for you to run your pub as a self-employed manager. Admiral Taverns take care of all the running costs including rates, utilities, stock and day to day running costs whilst you take home 18.5% of the net weekly sales, all employment costs relating to your staff and any council tax and TV licence for the residential quarters.

Mark Knibbs the Business Development Manager, is seeking an experienced community and sports obsessed operator, experience in running a similar venue would be advantageous and applicants must have the right sales focused ideas to maximise sales before and after games whilst ensuring customers are served in a safe environment. You will need to plan and execute weekly entertainment such as quiz nights, bingo, karaoke and live music and ensure a return is made on your weekly entertainment allowance. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the local marketplace as well as being community focused with a good knowledge of sports.
