We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in delivering diverse entertainment and sports offerings, combined with a clear vision for success. Strong marketing and promotional skills are essential the pub sits in a highly competitive area, but with the right approach, there is real potential to build a loyal customer base and achieve a healthy turnover. The Hansom Cab is set to receive a significant transformational investment of £280,000 and will be joining our Proper Pubs portfolio as part of a major revitalisation project. This terraced high street pub enjoys a prime location in the heart of Leicester City Centre, positioned just outside the bustling Humberstone Gate bus terminal. Surrounded by a mix of shops, local businesses, and key attractions including the Corn Exchange, Curve Theatre, Leicester Market, and the Haymarket Shopping Centre the pub benefits from exceptional footfall and passing trade. Leicester itself is a vibrant city in the East Midlands, well connected via the M1 and M6 motorways and an extensive rail network, making it an accessible and attractive destination for both locals and visitors

Pub Layout

As part of the upcoming transformation, the entire pub will be refreshed with vibrant décor, contemporary finishes, and a reimagined layout breathing new life into this already well loved Leicester establishment. Locals enter The Hansom Cab directly from the main high street into a spacious, open-plan bar area. A long bar servery runs along the left hand side, providing ample serving space, while a mix of low, mid, and high-level seating creates a welcoming and flexible environment. The interior will also feature a new pool table and state of the art darts area, making it a popular social spot. Toward the rear of the pub are modernised toilets and access to an enclosed courtyard garden, offering additional outdoor seating.

At The Hansom Cab, a lively rhythm throughout the week is essential to driving trade and footfall. Our goal is to keep the atmosphere buzzing from day to night, with customer-focused activities that appeal to everyone. Daytimes will see plenty of fun and interactive entertainment from bingo and music quizzes to our state of the art Karaoke Wall, available for locals to enjoy at any time. Private Accommodation

The private accommodation consists of four bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom and boasts its own private entrance from the main road. The private quarters will be completely refurbished as part of the investment and will make a fantastic home for the new operator and family.

No rent applicable on this agreement

This opportunity is for you to run your pub as a self-employed manager. Admiral Taverns take care of all the running costs including rates, utilities, stock and day to day running costs whilst you take home 18.5% of the net weekly sales. You will be require to cover all employment costs relating to your staff and any council tax and TV licence for the residential quarters.

All new operators have comprehensive free training as part of their agreement.
