  • Community hub with high footfall

Alison Davidson Business Development Manger is seeking a hands on, people focused operator who loves being at the heart of the pub. Someone visible, welcoming and confident creating a great atmosphere, whether it’s a quiet afternoon or a busy karaoke or live music night. Being a great host is key, making locals, visitors and theatre goers all feel at home. Entertainment will remain a major driver, with live music, quizzes and games nights giving customers a reason to return throughout the week. The operator will think commercially, making the most of high street footfall, theatre trade and a strong value drinks offer, while maintaining high standards on the bar, particularly with cask ale and popular favourites like Orchard Pig cider. Community is central to the Albion, and the vision is for an operator who enjoys getting involved locally, supporting charities and building strong relationships. With a motivated team, good organisation and active social media, the Albion will continue to thrive as a lively, welcoming pub at the heart of Tewkesbury.

The Albion is a traditional town-centre pub on Oldbury Road, facing Tewkesbury’s main thoroughfare and enjoying plenty of foot traffic. It sits opposite The Roses Theatre, a hub for plays, concerts, films, and community events. Right in the heart of Tewkesbury, the pub is within easy walking distance of shops, takeaways, and several other local pubs, forming a popular pub circuit. Buses stop directly outside, making travel to other parts of Tewkesbury and nearby villages convenient.

Pub Layout

The Albion is set to benefit from a revamp to make it an even more attractive and enjoyable pub for the community to enjoy. Outside, plans include opening up the existing outbuilding to expand the beer garden, creating a larger, more inviting space with a covered smoking area that can be enjoyed all year round. The garden will be enhanced with new fixed bench seating, heaters and festoon lighting, alongside general repairs and upgrades, making it a welcoming spot from sunny afternoons through to cosy evenings. Inside, the trade area will be refreshed throughout with full redecoration, new and additional lighting to lift the atmosphere, and new carpets to give the pub a warm, comfortable feel. These improvements are aimed at creating a space that looks great, feels welcoming, and is easy to trade from. The customer facilities will also be given some attention, with the gents toilets redecorated and fitted with new lighting, and the ladies toilets refreshed with new décor, feature wallpaper, a dado rail and improved lighting, adding a bit of character and polish where it counts. Overall, these enhancements represent a genuine investment in The Albion, offering an incoming operator the opportunity to take on a well presented pub with improved spaces, strong trading potential and plenty of scope to put their own stamp on the business.

The Albion is a true community pub at the heart of Tewkesbury, benefiting from daily footfall from shoppers and visitors exploring the town. Known for its vibrant entertainment, it comes alive as a lively high street bar while retaining the warmth and charm of a traditional pub. With a welcoming atmosphere, the Albion offers regular entertainment including live music, darts, pool, and karaoke nights. The pub caters to a diverse crowd, locals seeking a casual drink or social evening, theatre-goers from The Roses Theatre opposite, and pub circuit enthusiasts exploring Tewkesbury’s thriving bar scene. Community groups are also a key part of the pub’s fabric, with quiz nights and charity events held regularly. On the drinks side, the Albion prides itself on a selection of drinks such as cask ale, Orchard Pig cider, and value for money drinks offers, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Friendly, lively, and community-focused, the Albion perfectly blends traditional pub comforts with a buzzing high street energy.
