Lower Halling Community Pub Reopens Following Transformational Refurbishment
Popular community pub, the Five Bells on 126 High Street in Lower Halling, will officially reopen on Saturday 7th February following a transformational combined investment of £183,000 from experienced licensee Lloyd Slythe and Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub company.
This refurbishment will breathe a new lease of life into the Five Bells to elevate and modernise the overall look and feel of the pub – whilst still retaining its original, characterful features such as the open fireplace. The renovation will enable the licensee to further cement it as the go-to community hub for local residents.
Internally, the pub has been completely transformed to include brand new fixtures, fittings, furniture and flooring throughout. It also includes a brand-new bar and dining area along with three 55-inch flat screen televisions to elevate the Five Bell’s atmosphere and further expand its offering to ensure it welcomes everyone and caters to all tastes.
Externally, the Five Bells has been completely revamped to include brand new lighting and signage to greet visitors. In addition, the pub boasts a newly updated, spacious beer garden seating up to 200 people with brand new heaters.
Passionate licensee, Lloyd Slythe brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the pub having over 20 years of hospitality experience. Going forward the licensee is committed to creating a family and dog-friendly hub that brings people together and supports all aspects of community life.

Going forward, Lloyd Slythe will be hosting a busy schedule of regular entertainment for the community to enjoy including a bi-weekly pub quiz that will run on a Wednesday evening. In addition, the pub will host a food-themed night once a month to celebrate a variety of different cuisines from Indian to Mexican food. Lastly, as part of his mission to give back to the local community, he will also be hosting regular fundraising events and community initiatives for local charity, The Bluebell Circle. The Bluebell Circle is a community that brings people together to remember and celebrate the life of Sophia Le Brunn-Healey who sadly past away in March 2025.
Following the refurbishment, the pub will host an wide range of premium drinks including Guinness, Stella Artois, Fosters, Peroni and much more.
The Five Bells will also introduce a delicious food menu consisting of traditional pub favourites such as burgers, lasagnes and shepherds pies. In addition, the pub will also provide a Sunday roast every Sunday from 12-onwards.
The pub is owned by Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub company with c. 1,350 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
