Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub group, with over 1,420 pubs across the UK, has launched a brand new, free training initiative designed to help licensees maximise their pub’s offering, drive footfall and streamline business operations.
The new ‘Bitesize Training’ is available to all licensees across Admiral’s Leased & Tenanted division with one, two-hour virtual session taking place every month – prior to typical pub opening hours – to ensure the training can be delivered in the most convenient, accessible way possible.
Each session is hosted by one of Admiral’s in-house subject matter experts and covers a broad range of crucial topics including marketing, social media, property, legal and licensing, finance and food development. The subject matter rotates every quarter and so far, Admiral has successfully conducted courses on food development and marketing which have received extremely positive feedback from publicans.
Gary Gale, Licensee of The Brawns Den in Durham, said: “I recently attended Admiral’s first two Bitesize Training sessions and I have to say that they were excellent! They were well structured, informative and delivered in a way that made them easy to fit around running a pub. So far I’ve found them extremely helpful and most importantly, the material covered has been very straightforward to put into practice. I’m grateful for the efforts that have gone into creating this new training programme and I look forward to the sessions that are to come.”
Earlier this year, Admiral was once again ranked first in the annual independent licensee sentiment tracker for the UK’s leased and tenanted pub sector, with publicans voting the pub company ‘partner of choice’. As part of this, Admiral was ranked on its staff and tenant training capabilities, scoring 7.5/10. To further build on this impressive score, the Group took the decision to launch the ‘Bitesize Training’ initiative to make the necessary training as readily available to publicans as possible.
Ceri Radford, Head of Recruitment and Operations Support, commented: “We are delighted to have launched this fantastic new online, time efficient training initiative to bring licensees the resources they need to enable their pubs to grow and thrive at no additional cost to them. We have always championed the importance of the Great British pub because we understand the value they bring to communities across the country and our focus is always on giving licensees the tools they need to build sustainable pub businesses, and I think this stands testament to that.”
