The Property is located on the High Street in the centre of the Welsh market town of Welshpool. The town is in Powys although was historically in the county of Montgomeryshire. The Talbot is believed to have originally been built in the late 16th Century – early 17th Century, and raised in height later in the 18th Century. In long-use as a public house, this Grade II Listed property was formerly known as The Corner House. The two story property has timber framing exposed at the gable end and rear elevation. The front elevation is rendered, beneath a pitched slate roof, with brick stack on left-hand gable.
