Trading style

The Woodman Corner operates mainly as a nightclub and is only open in the evenings. Admiral Taverns believe that there is an untapped market to cater for a mixture of clientele by opening during the day as well as offering a basic food menu. It may be just hot snacks to accompany sports viewing – or something more substantial and with the support of Admiral Taverns catering team, this can be achieved. We are looking for applicants who are familiar with the local area and have a minimum of bar management experience. They will be full of enthusiasm and demonstrate their ideas and visions to enable this business to cater to all ages and genders and have some catering skills to start up a basic food offer. Admiral Taverns offer a range of support under the 'Business Support Agreement' which is particularly advantageous for those who are new to the industry. This agreement will run for a set period of eight months, providing the licensee with bespoke training programmes, access to business insights from a range of industry experts, and an unrivalled portfolio of products and equipment.

Trade accommodation

Essentially this is a one room operation with split level areas and a mix of fixed and loose seating all serviced by a central bar. On entering through the main door, you are faced with the bar servery which serves all trading areas. The trading layout would lend itself well to functions. To the left of the pub is a sports area with a pool table and a darts okke and this could be utilised more by introducing sports teams in local leagues. The ladies and gents toilets are located to the rear of the pub. There is a partially equipped catering kitchen located to the rear of the bar servery which can be easily accessed. Externally, there is a small patio area to the rear with a smoking solution. Although there is no car park, there is pay and display parking located in the town centre. Internally the outlet including private accommodation is in very good condition with a good standard of décor. Externally the pub would benefit from a minor refurbishment and Admiral would be interested to talk with interested parties on facilitating this programme.
