The Garthanghared is steeped in history dating from circa 1736. It is situated on the main road through the coastal village of Llwyngwril, just three miles south of the seaside resort of Fairbourne, it is a popular place which falls within the Snowdonia National Park. This picturesque village has a small population, however during the seasonal months attracts visitors with its many outdoor pursuit opportunities, being very close to mountains, woods and the sea.

Trading style

The Garthanghared is lucky enough to be the only pub in the village in the and is the hub of the community with an excellent food offer and a comprehensive choice of drinks including cask ales. Letting rooms are also available for visitors to the village. The intimate nature of the trading layout creates a warm and friendly atmosphere which can be greatly enhanced by an enthusiastic welcoming host. The success of the business will rely heavily on the operator of the business making time for and getting actively involved with the local community whilst also making visitors to the area feel welcome.

The pub sits on a large plot in the centre of the village and benefits from having a car park for approximately eight cars and an enclosed walled courtyard. Internally the site is split into different trading areas; a snug for dining, separate bar & lounge, each with their own servery, plus a restaurant which combined with the dining snug can accommodate fifty covers. The ladies and gents toilets are located off the passageway leading form the courtyard entrance. The site has a well-equipped catering kitchen with direct access to both dining areas. Internally the site has a lot to offer with open fires and rustic furniture giving it a great character feel.
