Praise for The Boot

by admin 2/4/2011 2:10:00 PM

Admiral Taverns’ pub The Boot in Kimpton, Hertfordshire has been featured in trade publication The Morning Advertiser’s accommodation guide.

We helped landlords Barry and Roberta Smith undertake a £214,000 refurbishment to convert a disused barn into five bed-and-breakfast rooms and business has been booming ever since.

In the article, which was published this week, The Boot was highlighted as a great example of how pubs can grow their business by offering letting rooms.

Read the e-edition of the Morning Advertiser to find out more (please note – you must be registered with the Morning Advertiser website to view the e-edition). Admiral Taverns’ landlords interested in exploring the possibility of offering bed and breakfast accommodation should speak to their business development manager.

Purple Emperor boosted by £60K transformation

by admin 2/1/2011 1:26:00 PM

The Purple Emperor pub in Harlow is looking forward to a prosperous 2011 thanks to a £60,000 investment by Admiral.

The popular pub has been redecorated throughout, with the front of the pub getting a revamp too. The garden area has also been extended to accommodate twice as many customers.

Martin Haines, who has been running the pub with his wife Susan, daughter Sally and her husband Jamie since the end of 2008, has already seen an increase in turnover.

Martin said: “We have invested some of our own money in improving the pub but we could only afford to scratch the surface when it came to all the work that needed doing, so the investment from Admiral has been of huge benefit.”

Landlords get chance to win pool refit

by admin 3/2/2010 5:11:00 PM

We're always keen to help our landlords improve their pubs, so we're backing Fosters' fantastic new competition where pubs can win a complete pool refit.

100 pubs will win pool lights, re-baise, pool ball set, cue holder, a branded pool clock, pint glass holders and drip mats.

With the Admiral Taverns' Poll & Darts Championship coming up later in the year, this gives our landlords the chance to revamp their games area and benefit both their pool team and their customers.

To enter the Fosters competition, all landlords need to do is email pooldrive@fosters.co.uk telling Fosters why pool is so important for their pub, along with photos of thier pool area (terms and conditions apply). More information can be found on The Publican website.

A look back at refurbishment success

by admin 12/22/2009 11:00:00 AM

As 2009 draws to a close, we at Admiral Taverns are taking a look back at some of the successful pub refurbishments that we’ve undertaken in the past year.

We are constantly improving the quality of some of our trading pubs and pubs to rent by investing in major and minor refurbishments across the country. We work alongside our licensees in terms of idea generation and aim to give our pub landlords and their local communities a pub to be proud of.

We’ll, of course, be continuing this kind of work in 2010 and beyond.

Take a look at our gallery of Admiral refurbishments or find out more about Admiral’s pubs to let.

More Rooms At The Inn

by admin 11/9/2009 2:09:00 PM

Many landlords are finding new and creative ways to boost income during the current recession.

A prime example are Barry and Roberta Smith at The Boot in Kimpton, Hertfordshire.  With Admiral's support they've created five bed and breakfast rooms by converting a disused barn at the back of their pub.

Business has boomed since the completion of the development, helping The Boot increase its turnover and appeal to new customers. The pub now has a thriving breakfast trade and is packed out at least three nights a week.

Read Barry and Roberta's story, or find out more details of opportunities with Admiral.
