The Walnut Tree is located in Stowmarket, a market town in Suffolk very close to the A14 between Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. Over recent years the area has benefited from an influx thanks to new housing and businesses with a population of 150,000 with this still continuing to grow. The pub is situated close to the town which still has two weekly markets and is surrounded by local housing. It is also situated close to a local Business Park which has Scania located there.
The pub trades from one bar servery, which services the main drinking area where the locals usually gather. The style of the pub is traditional and cosy with a modern touch. There is a great function / lounge area with its own bar servery that is located behind the main bar this currently doubles as a sports area and is currently home to the pool table and has easy access to all facilities. The ladies and gents toilets are located just off this area. There is outside seating to the front of the pub and to the rear is a patio beer garden.
The business is predominantly drinks orientated although there is a small food menu with a popular Sunday lunch offering however there is room for development which will enhance the pubs appeal. The current licensees have engaged with the local community through quiz nights and live music, with sports teams providing a boost during the week on the quieter nights.
