Master Gunner

Cardiff, CF14 2RU

Please leave your details and our team will be in touch. * fields are required

The Master Gunner is a detached pub located on a large housing estate in Galbalfa, only three miles from the centre of Cardiff. There are transport links (buses) running frequently taking you from Gabalfa into the city centre and is also surrounded by local shops and amenities. Cardiff is the capital and largest city in Wales and has a population of approximately 900,000 with 10,000 being in Gabalfa.

Pub Layout

The pub trades from an open plan area with a central bar servery. To the right side you will find a sports area with a pool table and darts okke and access to the ladies and gents toilets is also situated here. To the left is a lounge with plenty of seating. The equipped catering  kitchen is located to the rear of the pub and can be accessed from the bar servery. There is a large function room on the first floor that can cater for up to 100 people and has its own bar servery and ladies and gents toilets. There is also a second function room in the basement that also has its own bar servery and toilets and can seat up to 80 people. At the rear of the pub is a large car park for up to 30 cars. To the front of the pub is a patio area with benches for those wishing to have a drink outside in the summer months as well as a purpose built smoking solution.

The Master Gunner is a traditional community pub catering to a small audience in Gabalfa. The pub has been home to darts, pool and skittle teams in the past and with a strong management team in place, teams could easily be re-introduced together with an excellent entertainment offer and a rhythm of the week. With an overall improved offer, the pub can rebuild the confidence of the local community to ensure that the Master Gunner becomes the first choice of places to go rather than the last. This in turn, will attract customers from further afield.

The Master Gunner is a large pub with huge potential. I am looking for a local person who understands the local community and will look to be an active part in it. The new licensee will need to have vision and passion to drive this business forward. Admiral Taverns offer a range of support under the ‘Business Support Agreement’ which is particularly advantageous for those who are new to the industry.

The premises may qualify for Small Business Rates Relief  in which case the non-domestic rating liability may be nil subject to the ratepayer occupying only one property for the purposes of business.
