Importance of pubs becomes hot topic

MPs have been discussing the importance of community pubs in parliament this week.

The vice chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group revealed that, on average, each pub contributes a massive £80,000 a year to the local economy, in addition to all the charitable events and special nights that many pubs also run regularly.

Labour MP for Selby John Grogan (pictured below) claimed that the community pub has a bigger reach that most other institutions, attracting 80% of people throughout each year.

If you’d like the chance to contribute to your community by running your own pub, then take a look at our pubs to let or check our 'licensee support' section to see how we’re helping our landlords make the most of their pub.
