The pub is located on Shirley High street within a small precinct of shops and next to a large Sainsbury store. There is a wealth of small businesses, residential shops and facilities in the immediate vicinity that attract people to the area from much further afield. Shirley is one of the largest areas in Southampton with a dense residential population of 13,900. The local market runs weekly on a Thursday directly outside the Windsor Castle again offering another weekly event in the area attracting footfall from all over Southampton. The Windsor Castle is a large corner plot facing onto the high Street.

The site is very well established with a strong day time trade from the local community and a evening trade from slightly further afield that comes to site for the weekend entertainment. It currently trades as a wet led community site that has great opportunity to start a food offering, develop the cask ales. This pub is the hub for the local community and there is a very strong well-established community feel. The site benefits from a midnight sale of alcohol license 7 days a week with the ability to close at 00:30. site was refurbished in 2014 both internally and externally and is still in good condition. The Windsor benefits from numerous pool and darts teams is also the venue of choice for finals matches. These events give the pub a strong weekly income. There is a small courtyard area to the rear of the pub that has an enclosed area that has direct access from the side and back of the pub. The site also benefits from a street license to the front of the pub that is renewed on an annual basis with the local council. There is a large car park behind the Sainsbury's and Library that is a minute walk to the pub. There is also limited street parking

The pub is an open planned pub with a horse shoe style bar surrounding a large bar servery. There is a raised area on the right hand side of the bar that is a great location for the live music and entertainment. On the left hand side of the bar servery the pool tables and dart boards are located. There is a courtyard garden to the rear left hand side of the bar that is easily accessible from the side or rear door. There is no food at the moment. There is a small kitchen located directly behind the bar servery that is capable of delivery a small low wastage menu.
