Spinners Arms, Atherton, M46 9JY

Spinners Arms is located on the on the edge of Atherton town centre on the Bolton Road linking Atherton to Leigh. Atherton is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, in Greater Manchester with a population of approximately 20,000. It lies five miles east of Wigan, two miles north of Leigh, and ten miles northwest of Manchester. Atherton train station is only a five minute walk away from the pub, which is on the Manchester to Southport line, there are also plenty of local businesses, schools and houses close by.

There is a proposed refurbishment that would be considered for the right applicant and would include an external decoration with signage and lighting as well as focusing on the patio to the front of the pub. Internally, the proposal would be to re-decorate throughout and create a small kitchen area. Although this is Admiral Taverns vision for Spinners, we are also looking for applicants to bring their own vision to the table to provide a welcoming pub to the local community.

  • Fantastic main road location on the edge of Atherton town centre
  • Refurbishment considered with the right licensee
  • Opportunity to introduce food

Spinners Arms Details

Trading style

Spinners is a community pub offering a mixture of activities to the locals. There is currently a pool and darts team in situ and would benefit from the introduction of a football team. Entertainment is also provided at weekends and would need to be developed as well as an offer throughout the week to entice the locals to utilise the pub. Food is not being served however there is scope with development to offer a basic menu if the catering kitchen is developed. Admiral Taverns are looking for applications who are local to the area and have a vision for Spinners. They will need to see the fantastic potential in the pub and be able to offer a warm and friendly pub. They will also need to make use of its excellent location through external and online marketing and with a jam packed offer.

Trade accommodation

On entering through the main door, the bar servery is centrally located splitting a lounge area to the left with fixed and loose seating for up to 25 covers. The bar services this area as well as a sports area to the left hand side of the pub where you will find additional seating and a darts okke. There is also a pool area located to the rear of the pub. There is a catering kitchen located just off the lounge and although not in use at present with some compliance work, can easily be functional. The ladies and gents toilets are located to the rear of the pub. Externally to the rear is a courtyard however this would need some development and there is also a drinking area to the front of the pub with benches. These areas would need some development as it could be a selling point in the summer months. There is also a small area to the front of the pub where you will find approximately six car parking spaces.
