The Purple Emperor is situated in the growing town of Harlow, just off the M11 and close to Stanstead Airport. It is in the heart of its community and is surrounded by a large number of houses and is located in a shopping precinct that includes a hairdressers, convenience store and a take away. Harlow is a designated ‘new town’ and there is strong employment throughout with a number of residents commuting to Liverpool Street Station and taking advantage of the 38 minute journey into the City of London.

Trading style

The pub is currently operating as a locals meeting point with occasional entertainment at weekends. The Purple Emperor has in previous years, been well known for live entertainment with a large function room, with scope to develop this further. Live sports should also be a big part of the pub to help attract more custom. Sports teams will need to be developed such as pool and darts teams. The Purple Emperor would suit an experienced licensee looking to maximise the potential especially by making use of the large function room. A back bar food operation is immediately workable however there is a possibility a value for food offer could be introduced with works to the commercial kitchen.
