Legacy is a large detached three story building located in the heart of Sunderland city centre, which has a population of approximately 276,000. The site benefits from being next to the main bus terminal and the metro, which is only a two minute walk from the main 'Bridges' shopping complex. Sunderland is currently undergoing a major redevelopment which will result in a new University Campus opening opposite the Legacy. Sunderland Football Club is about 20 minutes walk away and as a result it benefits from passing trade on match days due to its location adjacent to the Metro link and bus terminal.

Trading style

As a city centre venue it benefits enormously from the evening trade and its 11am-3am late licence is of great advantage, however the premises licence does stipulate door staff are necessary at certain times. There is an opportunity to develop the food trade and create a menu that would include meals, snacks, light bites and teas/coffees throughout the day. The Legacy has various events throughout the week which include quiz nights, cocktail evenings and regular DJs. In addition the recently refurbished function room is an ideal spot for private events, live bands and alternative entertainment. Admiral Taverns are looking for applicants who will have experience in running city centre venues and have the passion and skillset to develop and drive this fantastic venue forward.

Trade accommodation

Legacy is modern in layout. It has a central bar to the front which has a large wooden floor space. In the bar area there is also plenty of sofas and seating for up to 30 covers with an additional raised area to the right which is used as a dining area. This carpeted raised area can cater for a further 25 covers. Leading on from this area you can access the additional floors. The second floor has its own bar and function space and the top floor is where the fully equipped catering kitchen is located. The ground floor is where you will find the toilets and there is also a DJ booth to the left of the bar. The general condition of the pub and its fixtures are in good order. There is also a pavement licence in place and as such the site benefits from tables and chairs on the patio at the front of the pub. There is no car park on site but due to its central location it gets high levels of passing trade.
