The Kensington Tavern is a community local situated in a residential area South West of Derby. It sits on the edge of town just off the A501 ring road less than a mile from the city centre. This neighbourhood pub is an attractive detached property on the corner of a Victorian terrace with similar streets nearby. The area is made up of a cross section of locals and a good amount of student accommodation. Admiral Taverns are looking for a couple with flair to promote the pub and work closely with the community.

Trading style

The Kensington Tavern is a wet led community pub at the heart of it's community. The pub gets the majority of trade from the locals and some students that live in the area. The pub has regular entertainment, with discos and karaoke playing a part of this. There are no darts teams but there is one pool team that plays from the pub. There is potential for more teams to increase the midweek trade. There is no food offer at present (apart from snacks from behind the bar) but there is an opportunity to drive a back bar food offer.

Trade accommodation

The Kensington Tavern is accessed from a door on the front corner of the pub. This leads straight into the bar area which is L shaped in layout. To the left of the bar are the toilets and around to the right is an area with pool table and entertainment facilities. This area has access to an external patio (with smoking shelter) and a large enclosed beer garden. To the left of the pub is space for tenants parking. There is also lots of street parking nearby for customers.

Private accommodation

The domestic accommodation consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are all on the first floor accessed from the pool room. The domestics are in good order.
