The Foresters Arms is a well-positioned corner site pub in the area of Barnards Green, Great Malvern. Sat in the centre of a highly sought after area with high ABC1 demographics, this pub offers the right operator a fantastic opportunity to develop this site and create a quality local. It is the only pub in the immediate area of Barnards Green which is a large residential area on the edge of Great Malvern, at the foot of the Malvern Hills. It currently trades as a wet-led pub with a heavy emphasis on pub sports, however, we feel that the Foresters has more to offer the community than just a wet-led pub.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced operator or whether the Foresters would be your first venture into the pub sector, it’s your passion, drive and vision we’re looking for. Someone who’s done some research into the area and can tell us what they think the area needs by way of a pub offering. Trading style

The pub currently trades as a locals pub, offering darts, crib and pool. There is no reason why this site couldn’t continue to operate in its current form, but a fresh approach to this site could offer further income to the potential operator. Admiral are prepared to invest in the pub to create a pub/bar which fits the gap in the pub sector we have identified. The Foresters needs to be a comfortable inviting pub/bar, for the whole community attracting men and women alike and in keeping with the area of Great Malvern. Admiral, with the right operator, will invest in the site, including an external decoration and signage scheme, with hanging baskets which will show people in the area that the pub has a new lease of life. The pub needs a wide range of drinks, including a good wines and cask ale, an even a bottled craft ale range to really stand it apart from the competition. To help reposition and market the Foresters it needs to have a strong on-line presence with great social media interaction with the immediate area. Although the pub doesn’t currently have a food offer, we strongly believe we can incorporate a catering kitchen into the disused games room to create catering facilities to enable an operator to provide a good quality food offering to meet the demands of the area.

Trade accommodation

The Foresters comprises as a one-room operation with a small drinking/dining area off the main bar area. There is space for approximately 30 covers, but with some additional seating this could be increased to 40 and still remain comfortable. There is also a small games room although it’s actually too small for a pool table and is currently run down and barely used. This area we are considering making into a kitchen. The ladies’ toilets are inside, but the gents are still technically outside, however we would look to bring the outside toilets inside. At the front of the building there are benches for outside drinking and this area needs a little bit of a make-over to make it more appealing. To the rear of the building there is a small court-yard area which needs some love and attention.
