County Music Bar Details

Trading style

The County has been well known for its live music and had been a popular music venue for some time, with live bands at weekends. This 'chameleon' style of venue has great potential as Admiral Taverns may consider investing. There is potential to introduce a bar snacks/fast food menu to attract the lunchtime trade with local businesses and shoppers. Admiral Taverns are looking for a strong operator (or couple) with flair to develop the food offer, day time and early evening trade. Knowledge of current commercial trends would be encouraged as the site has the right characteristics to become a cask ale and premium lager venue. Great retail standards and a foresight to market and promote the vision would also be of huge benefit. The pub also has a 2am license so the offer can be broadened to the time of day and clientele. Our thoughts would be to open early mornings for coffees and breakfasts, serve lunch to the offices close by and then offer a jam packed entertainment offer in the evenings and throughout the week.

Trade accommodation

The County has an attractive Tudor style frontage with the main entrance on the road and also a side entrance via the archway to the right hand side. The pub is open plan in layout serviced by a large one bar operation. There is a trade kitchen behind the bar which is partially equipped. There is a raised pool area (with table) at the rear left of the premises which leads out onto an enclosed beer garden and terrace. To the right of this area are the ladies and gents toilets. There is a mixture of fixed and loose seating and the fixtures and fittings are in reasonable condition. Externally the pub is in good order however the pub would need to be re-decorated to suit the offer. There is no car park on site however space for two cars through the archway on the right of the building. As the pub is fairly central within the town there is plenty of public parking nearby.

Private accommodation

The domestic accommodation consists of three good sized bedrooms along with a large living room, private kitchen and bathroom. The condition is reasonable however the new licensee may wish to put their own stamp on this to create a homely feel.
