Trading style

The Bishop Blaize has a good wet trade at present which is supported with cask ales and televised sports. The pub has a traditional pub food offer although there is a fantastic opportunity to develop this further as it is not trading to its full potential. There are no teams at present but again this is a something that the ingoing licensee could look to introduce. Entertainment is a key driver in the business at the weekends and a large function room allows the licensee to also grow this part of the business. The Bishop Blaize is a fantastic opportunity for an operator that has the skills required to operate a busy multi-faceted business; bar experience and / or business knowledge would be desirable. The Bishop Blaize has the potential to become one of the busiest and most popular pubs in this area of North Yorkshire. Admiral Taverns would be keen to invest with the right licensee to make this a reality.

Trade accommodation

The pub has a long servery that stretches back the depth of the building, this services the main bar area. Off this area to the left are two further trade areas, one is the lounge and the other a separate dining area with seating for up to 40 guests. To the rear of the pub is a large equipped trade kitchen. On the first floor there is a large function room and the toilets. The Bishops Blaize has a well-kept and good size enclosed beer garden. There is no pub car park but due to the central location the pub is in walking distance of all town amenities and there is private and council owned Pay and Display parking nearby.

Private accommodation

The domestic accommodation consists of a large two bedroom flat with separate lounge, kitchen, large family bathroom and office which is currently being refurbished with scope to develop further.
